Nationally known concert pianist, arranger and teacher, Professor Marilynn Ham will present a one day piano workshop at Fairfield Glade Community Church, 521 Snead Dr., Fairfield Glade, TN, on Saturday March 20.
Pre-registration is required for workshop attendance. The workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a welcome.
In the morning session participants will receive step-by-step instruction on how to play the piano by ear. They will learn how to develop a melody, add rhythm and harmony to enrich the song. In the afternoon session Professor Ham will teach participants how to interpret a song and bring printed music to life to impress listeners’ hearts.
Mrs. Ham has provided piano workshops for over 25 years. This is the first time she has presented a workshop in Cumberland County. She is considered by many to be one of the best teachers of piano sacred music in the country. She has arranged 23 books of sacred music published by Lillenas, Alfred and FJH. One of her books published by Lillenas is their all time best seller.
Pianists of all ages and performance abilities will benefit from attendance. If you pre-register workshop attendance, you can pay the $50 workshop fee at the door. There is a 50% discount ($25) for current piano students taking lessons when they providethe name of their piano teacher. A free lunch will be available for workshop participants.
